Merlot

Hey guys,
If you haven't checked out Merlot yet, I'd recommend it! It is a curation tool, with diverse member content collaboration and contribution. https://www.merlot.org/merlot/index.htm . One can search on a given topic, or participate in a specific community, availing oneself of faculty resources, links to relevant grants and initiatives, professional development resources. The wealth of information available is pretty staggering.

There is a membership signup, and upon completion, you are provisioned a Profile, which pulls in feeds relevant to your membership questionnaire replies... For example, I am interested in Higher Education Instructional Technology, so I could locate connections by Institution (FSU), or by discipline/ interest. The profile provides space for you to manage one's portfolio... upload a CV, or presentations. Based on the nature of the site, I would want to ensure I understood their attribution process/ guidelines prior to sharing anything I have/want to keep proprietary ownership of. It's kind of an amalgamation of LinkedIn, and a content management site, with the addition of tags for communities of interest.

From a UX perspective, the initial experience incorporates visual images to chunk the high level categories of information in addition to providing an accordion menu structure...which I personally like. This menu structure continues to a sub-menu, however, the design format changes upon clicking a link into one of the sub-menu items. I guess with this volume of content, it would be difficult to manage otherwise.

Anyway, it's pretty neat. Take a look! Share your thoughts:).

And again.... shameless push for feedback/ interaction on Produsage project:). Would love to hear your thoughts on that, too! You may request to join the Edmodo group here: .
